  1. Great overview Neil. We can all use this in our Social Media Strategy.

I think the most important thing is really engage, like you do in commenting back to ALL of us.

I often see the same post get very different results. It’s mainly because the one that posted it has more followers but also engages more often.

In other words. Don’t just yell. Engage with your followers like a pro.

    • The difference is, once you get in the spotlight, you have lots of fans and followers, getting there is quite hard.
Once you manage to do so, you can engage audience easily

      • Raul,
It’s important to engage. I have tested out my engagement metrics and have found that when I am constantly engaging my traffic goes up dramatically.

To your point. I would say that it doesn’t matter whether your brand is large or small — engagement is a must.

      • Rachit, I couldn’t disagree more. Having a huge following doesn’t make it any easier to engage with them. The reality is that if you’ve got a huge following it’s much easier to make fatal mistakes in a very public way. I manage a number of Twitter accounts, some with a few tens of followers and one with followers well into the tens of thousands. In percentage terms the engagement metrics stack up exactly the same.
