  1. Hello Sir,

    Thanks for the awesome infographic.

Just looking for the best time for Twitter and Pinterest, Hope I’ll able to drive more traffic to my blog from these 2 popular social media. 🙂

  2. I read Thursdays and Fridays were the ideal times to post on FBK…I tried it for the first time sometime last year and it seemed true

  3. Amazing to see that there is a huge difference between Social Media Platforms (not only talking about LinkedIn).

Which Social Media do you like best Neil? Or are you focusing all your attention on email?

  4. Thanks Neil that’s a great post

  5. Your numbers coincide with my experience, but I think timing only matters on one’s social media strategy.

If you post 1 or a few posts per week, timing is important. However, many sites (including my niche sites) post 12 times per day. Yeah, I know that sounds like a lot, but it works really, really well. I’ve never had anyone say it’s too much.

Posting multiple times per day drives a TON of traffic for free. I don’t post the same content every day… instead I post different images throughout the day sometimes promoting the same content.

This strategy got me to 100,000 Facebook fans in well under 1 year for one niche. Now posting 12 times per day drives 300,000 page views per month… that’s all free traffic.

    • Jon, as with all things marketing related the numbers will be suggested rather than definitive. Each niche has its own rules. This data is what is generally true across all niches.

    • Jon, in this reply you’ve said “a TON of traffic for free”. But on your site you say “I spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on Facebook ads”. How does that equate to “free”? And where’s the magic in advising people to buy Facebook ads?

    • That is true.

However, you can also leverage the optimal timings to post or repost your best performing content for each network during those times. In addition to the 12 posts a day.

For example, sometimes I like to create viral social campaigns that can generate 1,000,000 views a week.

And those campaigns are centered around just 1 post.

However, it depends on the timing of when that 1 post is posted to spark the campaign.

Even if I am posting 10 posts a day, I still want my “hero post” specifically to be posted or reposted at the optimal times for max traction.

  6. Thanks neil sir for the great infographic.
I have noticed that if i share any link after 9:00 AM (Indian Time). I am getting more clicks or visitors then posting after 1 or 2 PM.
As your infographic says that at 3:00 PM, we can get most clicks. I will try new time…

  7. My god ! Never seen such a beautiful infographic. This is the best part i like about quicksprout – awesome infographics everywhere.

    How do you create them?

  8. What I find fascinating is that there’s no one good time to blast a message across all your social platforms. The fact that different social networks have different high-traffic periods speaks of either a.) different people using different networks at different times; b.) people following a hierarchy of social throughout the day (visiting sites in order of preference). Overall, a great read. I’ll be sharing it.

  9. What’s up Neil,

Thanks for the infographic – This will join your others that are hung in the office… Thanks for including Instagram times too, most don’t… I really appreciate all your advice, it’s been a big help.

Anyway, this is one of those things that makes me feel like a complete idiot. I just never thought of timing my releases before. I am always up super late finishing things off and usually issue some content to social media around midnight, thinking I will get up in the morning and check all the replies.
Needless to say, there never is an awesome response…this is certainly one of the reasons. I will kindly share this great visual infographic! Cheers

  26. Some of these social stats are great to know. A lot of the specifics such as times/days may be different depending on industry. Great post.

  27. I’ve come across other posts like this before, including one from Buffer. I’ve not really implemented a specific posting strategy in the past, but I think I’m going to try and experiment using these optimal times in 2015.

Wording Well has been experiencing more success as of late, and so to improve my busienss even more, this surely will help.

Thanks for keeping me motivated, Neil! 🙂

  28. Thanks Neil! This is excellent! I’ve seen a few of these posts on other blogs; these help me explain to clients that scheduling posts is worthwhile. Which tools do you recommend for automating this or setting reminders? So far I’ve just been putting these into a shared Exchange / Google calendar (as a reminder to create the content and push it out) and Hootsuite/Buffer to schedule and publish content that already exists.

  29. Just Amazing info And Infographic too good!

Thanks for sharing this great info.

  30. Hey Neil!

  48. Hi Neil,

Great article. I am in Los Angeles and I would like to know which time zone you are referring to when you give the best times to post.

    Thank you
    Jason Christopher

    • Los Angeles as well 🙂

      • Hey Neil,

Super thanks for this post. 😀 I’ve been using it as a guide for our social media activities, and I actually tested this on Pinterest, and hot damn, it doubled our following in just one weekend! xD

I based it on EST, then I thought I’d check where you’re from, and while I wanted to facepalm myself that you’re on PST, I figured, why don’t I rotate on different days? xD

Like, target EST Mondays, CST Tuesdays, MST Wednesdays, PST Thursdays, and so on and so forth, but augh. xD

I might do something saner, such as EST M/T, PST F/S/Sun, as the West Coast people seem to be more laid back, and MST/CST W-Th. xD

Gad. The stats and the data. Makes my head spin. But THANK YOU for giving an absolutely helpful guide. 🙂

  49. I’ll right away take hold of your rss feed as I can’t in finding your e-mail subscription link or e-newsletter service.

  58. Thanks a lot Neil. Very informative post…so till today I’ve done my fb posting all wrong…I’ll try what you suggested.
Thanks again. Keep up the excellent work

  59. Neil,

Why didn’t you included Stumbleupon? I think that sends traffic immediately as you submit the update there, few days back I had my google analytics real time graph opened in one tab and in other tab stumbleupon for sharing the articles, as soon as I published the article there I could traffic to my blog instantly, I thought that was a co-incidence so submitted another post but for my different site and from different account, the same result with that. According to India it was around 00:30-1:00 a.m. I would love to hear your suggestions over this.

    • Karan, I’ve mentioned it on a number of posts in the past — I think it’s a vital tool but not necessarily something that was top of mind when crafting this post. I will surely write an article again on SU. I would focus on your local time and cater things based on the insights you get from Facebook and Twitter analytics.

  60. Very True! I have followed some of these timings mentioned abouve, surprisingly i have seen gradual change in increase in traffic. I thought it ain’t gonna workout but truly Results were Amazing and Satisfactory. Thanks a lot Bro for this valuable stuff. Hope we keep hearing more Valuable stuff from your Side.
