Why You Should be a Motivational and Business Speaker

Do you know what the number 1 reason for my success is? It’s because I am a great networker. And do you know how I got to become a great networker?

It isn’t because I went out there and started to randomly introduce myself to whomever I met, but instead it’s because I started to speak at conferences.

See, when you get up on stage and start speaking about your business or to motivate others, you’ll be seen as an authority. And if you do a good job, all of those attendees will want to get to know you and more importantly want to work with you.

During my peaking I was speaking at one conference every week for a whole year. I would speak on anything from marketing, to entrepreneurship to even just motivating people to get up and just do something meaningful with their lives. And when I first started to do this I noticed that:

1. More people became familiar with my personal brand.
2. People started to follow me on the social web (Twitter, Facebook, my blog, etc.).
3. I got more consulting inquires.
4. And more people started to follow companies and talk about them in a positive fashion.

Now all of this didn’t happen right away, but if I looked at when I first started speaking compared to after I’ve given over 30 speeches, there was a big difference in how much money my company was making.

If you want to succeed in the corporate world, start speaking at conferences. I don’t care if you have stage fright, you just need to get over it.

It doesn’t matter if you have a consulting business like I did or a fashion or even a pet business, speaking at conferences can help you grow your income.
