A couple of things that might work for some (the first works in my niche so sorry if you’re reading my comment and finding that you can’t utilise it) are

1. Post news. If you can be the first one to post news about something in your niche, all of the other guys are going to be forced to cite you as a source. If they don’t give you a source link they’ll look rather (and ‘scuse my language) ‘douchey’ and in any case you could just email them to include your link and hope that they oblige (if not, rant about them on say, Twitter, and use social pressure to get them to cave).

2. Make a good product – if you make a good, useful and cheap product (though it has to be value for money), you can get other bloggers to link to you, of course by making something that is of value to them by providing an affiliate link or something and then be especially nice/offer help to those that do.

Definitely, I always prefer to work towards long term strategies. Those tend to take more time and work but are worth more in the end.

I love this kind of info. Thanks for sharing! Being a visual guy, the comic and infographic techniques stood out quite a bit. Now, creating that kind of creative might be a bit trickier — definitely worth the work though, it seems.

the seven ways you mentions are really good and natural ways to build backlinks, however, as they are not that easy, i agree with you that, to build backlinks, you need to be a bit creative, thank you.

Nice article, however aren’t most of these methods based on luck ? You need to create a pretty good quiz of info graphic for it to go viral. But thanks anyway , the how-to one is great and I use it a lot myself.

Lists are an excellent tactic, and you’ve really used them well on your site. I think everyone likes reading something like a ‘top ten’ as it means to you get lot of good ideas in a single post. Also, by having a number of items, writers are encouraged to make each point shorter than perhaps that would have done if they were focusing on just one issue.
